Burton is the home to the brewing industry in England. Famous brewery names include Coors, Burton Bridge Brewery and Marston's brewers of Pedigree, Old Empire, Smooth, Resolution and Burton Bitter. Understandably with such a brewing heritage, there is a wide range of pubs and bars in Burton upon Trent many of them long established and traditional.
The Burton Bridge Inn (the building itself dates back to the early 19th century) is listed in the Top 10 of UK pubs in the Guardian Newspapers's "Ten top UK brew pubs".
